How Junto's fees work
If you plan to charge a monthly subscription fee for your community, it's essential to understand the associated fees so you know what price to advertise and the earnings to expect. There are two fees to consider: Apple/Google's in-app purchase processing fee and Junto's service fee.
Apple & Google's In-app payment processing fee
When you sell memberships or content through the Junto app on iOS or Android, Apple and Google charge a 30% fee on each in-app purchase. This is a standard fee for all apps on their platforms and is collected directly by Apple or Google - not Junto.
- Why is there a payment processing fee?
Apple and Google handle payments made directly within their apps and apply this standard fee to cover their payment processing, security, and platform services. This ensures a smooth and secure checkout experience for your members.
- How Junto handles this
Junto automatically calculates and adds the 30% platform fee on top of your set price. This means your members will see the final price including the required Apple or Google fee at checkout.
For example, if you set your membership price at $15/month:
-
The total price displayed to members will be $19.50/month to avoid any miscommunication.
Junto's service fee
Junto takes a 10% service fee from your earnings to support platform development, new features, and operational costs
-
However, this fee is capped at $500 per month. So you’ll never pay more than $500 per month (after making $5,000 per month on Junto), no matter how much you earn.
Example
Below is an example of the fee breakdown for a community with the subscription fee set to $15/month. The advertised monthly fee is $19.50 ($4.50 added to include Apple/Google's fees);

What can you do?
The best thing to do is be aware of the fees involved and price your community accordingly. Be mindful to advertise the right price to maintain a great member experience.
